Panels will be organized during 2013 DAC.

We had an exciting panel during 2012 DAC focused on emerging trends and future needs for research in Design Automation.

DAC 2012 Panel: Industrial Design Automation in the Cloud: Opportunities and Challenges

Cloud computing is an exciting and fast growing technology that is pervading all of the realms where computers might be used. Design automation is no exception, and a foundation is being laid for the adoption of this technology in industry, from ongoing research activities in academia and government studies on the use of cloud computing for High Performance Computing applications, to commercial cloud computing services and design automation software products for the cloud. This panel will address the opportunities and challenges in cloud computing that will favor or hinder its application for design automation in an industrial setting. This panel is co-organized by the Design Automation Conference and the Computers and Information in Engineering Conference.
